بررسی آوایی غلت نرمکامی [w] در زبان فارسی

چکیده

غلت نرمکامی [w] بر خلاف غلت سختکامی [j] در نظام آوایی زبان فارسی نقش تمایزدهندگی ندارد زیرا توزیع آن در مواضع واجی ناقص است؛ یعنی تنها در تعداد معدودی از کلمات فارسی آن هم فقط بعد از واکۀ [o] ظاهر میشود (مانند "شوق"، "حول"، "دور"). به همین دلیل، [w] در فارسی صرفاً به عنوان واج‌گونه‌ای از واج /v/ در نظر گرفته شده است. همچنین، فرض شده است که غلت نرمکامی [w] در روساخت آوایی کلمات مورد نظر، گاه بهکلی از زنجیرۀ آوایی حذف شده و به جبران آن واکۀ /o/ قبل از آن کشیده میشود که در این حالت توالی آوایی [ow] به صورت [où] تلفظ میشود. در تحقیق حاضر میزان اعتبار فرضیههای واجی مطرح شده در پیشینۀ مطالعات فارسی دربارهی صورت آوایی کلمات حاوی غلت نرمکامی [w] را در یک مطالعه آزمایشگاهی بررسی کردیم. نتایج تحلیلهای فرکانس، دامنۀ انرژی و دیرش زنجیرههای آوایی هدف نشان داد که [w] بعد از واکۀ [o] در کلمات مربوطه تظاهر آوایی دارد، ولی تظاهر آن به صورت یک گونۀ تضعیف‌ شده است. با کاهش فعالیت [w] در توالی آوایی [ow]، شکل هندسی حفره دهان و الگوی واکسازی حنجره تغییر میکند که باعث میشود (1) دامنۀ انرژی برای فرکانس‌ها تا حدود قابلِ توجهی تقویت می‌شود؛ (2) مقادیر فرکانس سازه‌ها تا حدی افزایش یابد و (3) پهنای نوار سازه‌ها تا حدی باریک‌تر شود. برایند تمامی این تغییراتِ صوتی، شباهت آوایی بیشتر غلت [w] به واکۀ [o] و در نتیجه دیرش بیشتر واکۀ [o] است.

چکیده English

Persian velar glide [w], unlike the palatal glide [j], does not serve a contrastive function in Persian phonology since it has incomplete distribution, occurring only in few words after the mid back vowel /o/. Thus, [w] is described as an allophone of the phoneme /v/. Furthermore, it has been assumed that [w] in [ow] may be deleted in connected speech giving rise to the compensatory lengthening of the preceding [o] vowel. In the present research, we examined the phonetic realization [w] in Persian words in an experimental study. The results suggested that [w] is acoustically present in the target words but is reduced or weakened to different degrees. As [w] is reduced in [ow], the shape of the vocal tract as well as the phonation type changes, resulting in (1) increase of overall intensity of the spectrum; (2) increase in the formant frequencies; and (3) decrease in bandwidths of the formant frequencies. All these systematic acoustic variations cause the vowel [o] in [ow] to be produced and perceived as longer than an ordinary [o] vowel
